The composition of this drawing presents a unique representation of dreams. Its almost “video game” like with the third person view encapsulating the environment. The isometric view is also one of my favorite methods of architectural representation, allowing the viewers to fully understand the space without distortion.
The good range of dark and light tones is present in this drawing. However, Chloe has the tendency to outline the elements, which took away from the realism of the image. It would also be beneficial if a light source was established to add a sense of depth and three dimensionality with the scene. By establishing consistent shadows, she could have produced a much realistic drawing. Despite the lack of detail, I’m impressed with Chloe’s ability to set the scene in this drawing. By using thinner line weights and extra details with the elements, there was an opportunity to provide Easter eggs about her dreams. The idea of having a room with archived dreams is such an interesting concept to me.
The proportions in this drawing could use some improvement. Since this is an isometric view, the use of a ruler would greatly be beneficial to this composition. This is evident in the stairs with each step having inconsistent heights. There was also an opportunity to enhance this drawing by assigning a material to each object in the scene.
Overall, Chloe can drastically enhance her drawings by maintaining her proportions and adding more details. Well done!
