The composition does a good job at taking up the page and gives a good general sense of the cycle from left to right. There is a good usage of tonal range for giving a sense of 3 dimensions and there is a nice sense of texture. The first and second stage showcase a very good sense of contrast/shadow, and the process of the transformation has a good sense of material and scales splitting and twisting. However some of the shading in certain areas looks smudged, and the mark making can be hard to discern.

The proportions and placement of the final stage makes the cycle of the transformation feel a bit off. The final snake appears a bit large for being behind the other stages and it’s hard to tell if it was meant to grow in size or not. The placement also feels like it throws the transformation by deviating from the cycle of left top right. Perhaps if the last snake was brought more to the right and posed to follow the flow of the cycle, it would feel more fluid.
