The composition in this drawing are successful at leading the eye throughout the piece the straight on perspective of the left face works well to draw attention to it first with the right side using more whites and paler colors almost fading it into the background and continuing the storyline of the drawing nicely.
The use of whites are very effective in this piece first drawing your eyes to the gaze of the first face with how well the eyes contrast with the skin tone and background and then contributing to the feeling of the other self or older self being more faded off into the background almost not there possibly. The use of marks contribute to an effective dreamlike feeling with the use of thin wispy stroked notably in the hair, there is a large range of tones used here perhaps there could be some more slightly darker darks used on some places however it may change the piece too much so I’m not completely sure about that.
