The composition of this one works really well, it shows movement and it is easy to understand that the claw is coming down as a spider, something completely different but with a similar base. Also, the spider that looks closer has a nice three dimensionality, you can almost feel that it is falling down towards you. The use of values helps the main shapes come out as well as the negative space, that adds no extra information so we can focus on the spider and claw only. The piece of wood or branch in the bottom area is a little distracting, it could be there using lighter values to show it as something that is part of the context but is not as important, or it could be erased completely. I like the idea of giving extra background so I would suggest creating more branches in lighter values, not completely defined and a few ones darker and more detailed, something like a bed of branches in the back. Other than that, this is a great job! Well done!
