In this piece Dre shows a great sense of color by using ones that fit well together in the objects while also giving a feeling of pattern or texture. She also uses dark and conflicting colors in parts where the object changes or where the subject ends. Even when doing this she seems to use a similar or familiar sense of hue and also applies a wide variety without them feeling out of place. However in some spots the colors appear a bit too dark and look almost black, though in some of those parts it ends up helping bring the eye around the page.

She uses a good variety of mark making that compliments their subject and creates an interesting backdrop. The marks on the teapot help create a clear sense of a pattern, and also gives off a feeling of porcelain. The needles have a difference between solid and clear plastic and also lead to a visible puncture, while the cross or crucifix gives off a feeling of grooves and craftsmanship. But on the cross, some patterns feel unsymmetrical and this feeling can be lost. The backdrop surrounding the subject does a good job of using up the negative space and highlighting the subject without being too distracting.
