Haley follows the style of trois crayon and she uses changes in mark making such as spreading the marks or increasing hatching to create shade while staying with the same color already present. The style does its job of creating the texture of fabric, hair, and fur and creating shadow and contract on the skin. The composition is also well put together however I feel the lemur could have been more involved in the subject, such as maybe having it at an angle. Another option to help with the composition would be having the two faces take up more space.
The mid-tone paper used for this piece does a good job of allowing visibility for the whites and browns, allowing for good highlighting on the faces. I do feel that more usage of colors, if possible, could help make the page feel more full and possibly create more of a difference between the two faces by adding detail.
