Great use of perspective. The low angle view compliments the upward gaze of the cat. Our eyes follow his worried stare to the countertop where his transformation from croissant to cat had just occurred.
The rounded mark marking within the croissant’s shading successfully creates a 3 dimensional effect. Furthermore, the mark making that had been used to create visual volume then transforms into the illusion of texture within the cat’s fur. The wood grain in the kitchen flooring is highly realistic and extremely well done. Every object has a grounding shadow: the plate, the cabinet doors and handles, the cat, as well as the shattered plate pieces.
I believe that some of the darks could have been pushed further. For example, the crack in the cabinet door and the handles could be drawn darker. I also notice evidence of smudging/fingerprints in the top left section, but that can easily be removed with an eraser 🙂

Your cross hatching and perspective on this is brilliant, the shape language of a croissant perfectly translates to that of a mischievous cat. I love the dynamism of the bent 4th phase and it works perfectly after the third one. The broken dish and the wood nature of the floor perfectly represents the material the objects are made of. I only wish the third phase was more different than the second one.
