The composition is well-done. What works particularly well is the style of shading used (consistant with prior works) compliments the way reflection/refraction works in real life. Dark and light contrast beautifully on the metal and show the sheen and contours which are highly realistic – due to the depth it gives as well as adding to the overall composition. Multiple objects that are rounded and have few corners (minus the spoon in the cup) contrasts with the sharp angle of the desk, bringing further interest to the drawing and making it skillfully composed. With the additions of the colour teal into the composition, it creates a more interesting piece of art, but also connects multiple pieces of the composition together, creating a more harmonious image. I only have to wishes for this already amazing piece of art: one, is that the corner of the desk had stayed as is and wasn’t covered (however, I really like geometric art, so this is simply personal taste), and two, that the wood grain was better established and not just lines, and that the shadows on it would be more natural. These are small details, and not very noticeable – all critiques were more ideas, rather than anything wrong with the art piece itself. Overall, it is a lovely piece of art, and any “work” it needs are little details that aren’t important.
