Assignment3

The composition takes up whole page and is drawn in a consistant, but rushed style – possibly stylistic. The fact that this composition actually takes up the whole page, works very well for the drawing as a whole because of the minimal hatching design and simple figures of the two cups. By filling up the space around the cups, as well as creating a lighter centre compared to the space outside the cups, this draws the eye to the middle of the page where the cups are, along with the details on the cups. The drawings in the cups of animesque style brings contrast to the realistic style of the cups, and the reflation/refraction (seen as stretching) were well done. I wish there had been a tad more cross hatching, but understand that using only hatching is also a chosen art style by some. My last critique is that the drawing could use a bit more depth and shading to draw out the figures, cups and the atmosphere. Overall, I really like the drawing, but I also have an obsession with crosshatching myself, and that may be why I wished to see more.
