The overall composition of the artwork is effective, guiding the viewer’s eye smoothly across the artwork, like moving from left to right or right to left. The vertical aspects of the objects minimize empty space, making excellent use of the drawing area making the layout cohesive. Each object is defined clearly through thoughtful color choices, which help to distinguish them from one another without causing visual overwhelm. The artwork uses a mix of complementary and secondary colors in the cross-hatching, enhancing the broken color. In addition, the use of cross hatching that contours to the shape of an individual object gives variety to the artwork and brings out the three-dimensional effect. Also, I like the use of negative space around the toaster’s highlight which balance the artwork.
Suggestions. While the composition is good, I feel like move the objects around could create more depth to the art work. When the objects are moved to the position where they can overlap each other, this could encourage the use of more broken colour techniques.
