Despite the central focus of the composition, the llama captures the viewer’s attention due to its prominent size. So, the minimum empty space around it ensures the drawing feels cohesive and maintains a smooth flow, without disrupting the overall composition. There is a great detail / precision used during the mark making as the cross hatching used for the llama’s head contributing to the three-dimensionality of the drawing. This technique not only adds dimension but also emphasizes the contours of its shape
Moreover, there is a large variety of tonal range used, which adds texture to the llama’s fur, gives it more depth, and variation in patterns. That combined with the flowers blooming on the llama’s coat make’s the drawing visually interesting.
However, I feel like there could have been more darker tones added to the llama’s head to bring out more contrast like with the fur. This would help to further define the head. Also, I would try adding a shadow which could anchor/ground the llama. Overall, I like it.
