In this piece, light is described excellently. The shadows cast from the spoons and glasses to the wall on the background is very realistic; the highlights on the glasses work well with those shadows to communicate to the viewer the direction the primary light source is coming from. The composition in this piece is very centered. It was a good decision to have the spoons cross; this created an great initial focal point. My eye is guided around the center spoons and glasses, landing on the front small one, which then leads me down into the table. The table has been created using an interesting, wavy pattern. This makes for something interesting to look at, but I personally feel that wavy pattern make the table feel less solid. The glasses feel less like they’re sitting on the table because of this. A few darker tones in between the table and the wall would’ve also helped to created more depth in the composition.
